AHG Uniform Guide

A few tips about putting badges on their vests/sashes.

  • Some of the badges are difficult to tell which way is up. Use this cheat sheet or the handbook as a reference
  • Patches go on the back of the uniform. (Badges are hexagon shaped and patches are any other shape.)
  • If your daughter earned a level award it will become the center of the first 'flower' on her new uniform
  • The HUGGS patch can have year 'rockers' around it. So leave space for them. The rockers look like this:

  • Unless already noted every badge will go onto the uniform from the level she earned it.
  • Badge Placement: The petals of the flower are made up of one badge per frontier beginning with the Heritage Frontier in the 11 o'clock position and proceeding clockwise around the center of the Badge: Heritage, Family Living, Arts, Outdoor Skills, Personal Well-Being, Science & Technology.( I didn't follow this one on my daughter's first vest so if you have already started the flower and not followed this rule don't stress about it. We aren't going to do a uniform check for this.)
  • Badges not needed for the flower: When multiple badges from the same frontier are earned, the ones not used to form the flower are attached on the right-hand side of the vest

If you have any questions check pages 24-27 of the handbook. And you can always contact me as well.

Here is a nice powerpoint explaining placement as well as show a good way to sew badges onto the uniform.
